Menschen und Institutionen vernetzen – fuer alle

The salons of Kultur für Europa are a visible part of the association’s work. Through talks, panels and artistic formats, we accompany Heidelberg’s bid with public exchange, networking and cultural attention – supported by a civic network across Heidelberg and the wider region.

Upcoming formats use carefully selected free visuals, while archived salons remain connected to authentic event photography. Salon photographer: Sabine Arndt. The association has reached about 500 members and is active on Instagram (@kultur_fuer_europa_heidelberg).

METROPOLINK Urban Art Festival – Grand Opening

DateTuesday, 5 August 2026 · 19:00

On 5 August 2026, this year's METROPOLINK Urban Art Festival in Heidelberg will be officially opened. Festival director Pascal Baumgärtner, himself a member of our association, invites members to the opening and will personally welcome us. A limited ticket contingent is available at 30 Euros per ticket. Since its founding in 2015, METROPOLINK has grown into one of Germany's leading urban art festivals. International artists transform facades, public spaces and former industrial and military grounds into large-scale works of art. The festival hub is Patrick-Henry-Village, hosting exhibitions, live paintings, installations, music, workshops and discussions. This connection of international art, urban transformation and European exchange is a vital stepping stone for Heidelberg’s cultural future and an inspiring example of our shared bid as European Capital of Culture. Registration for association members in advance via email to kontakt@kulturfuereuropa.eu.

Celebrating friendship!

Date24 September 2026 · 19:30 to 21:30

Culture is the strongest means of building understanding across borders – and friendship wants to be lived and celebrated. Between Heidelberg and Montpellier, Franco-German cooperation has been peace work in action for decades and lies at the heart of a united Europe. In 2026 three anniversaries coincide: 65 years of town twinning, 60 years of the Maison de Heidelberg and 40 years of the Montpellier House. Together with both houses, we take this as an occasion for a high-profile panel discussion featuring Barbara Gessler (Head of the European Commission Representation in Germany), Florian Drücke (Board, Franco-German Cultural Council & European Movement Germany, Chairman BVMI) and Karla Jauregui (Director Montpellier House), moderated by Nadine Gruner (Director Maison de Heidelberg). Guided visit at the Montpellier House at 18:30 (for association members, registration required), panel discussion at the House of Encounter at 19:30, followed by a reception at the Montpellier House.
